Kastoria is surrounded by its lake and is connected to the land through a wider strip of land from embankments, giving the impression of an island.
It is connected by air to Athens, with 4-5 routes a week depending on the season through Aristotle International Airport, located in Argos Orestikos, 8 km from the city of Kastoria. Access to the city is easy and secure via the Egnatia Road. Landscapes of immense natural beauty and a multitude of historical monuments make up the mosaic of Kastoria and together with the excellent tourist infrastructure provide an ideal combination for winter and summer holidays. The beautiful nature of Kastoria offers both winter and summer tourism. You can enjoy the winter, skiing in the snowy mountains or excursions to the dense forests, while in the summer, the cool green of the mountain and the idyllic blue of the lake. No one can resist an enjoyable stroll on the beach during the afternoon and evening hours, where the whole beach along the way vibrates with life. Kastoria is famous for its snacks in the tsipourodias and the good food in the many restaurants of the city.
PROPOSALS FOR THE CITY
THE LAKE OF THE LAKE. This ride is ideal for those who want to enjoy the lake very close. It is about 10km below plane trees that literally fall in the lake.
The Cave of Dragon (tel. 24670.26777) located on the shores of the lake, at the foot of the small mountain that creates the peninsula. According to tradition, the cave is a gold mine that guarded, watchful guard, a dragon. The visitor will encounter lakes and rare stalactites that are accessible by five corridors – tunnels and two constructed bridges.
DOLTZO – APAZARI You will admire the majestic mansions of Kastoria. Its brilliant past is blurred in the houses of the 17th and 18th centuries, which were built by famous Macedonians and Epirotes “maistros”. The wealthy merchant furriers who came back from Europe bringing furniture, decorative and “fresh” ideas to decorate the interior of the buildings with paintings and impressively carved wood carvings on the ceilings, cupboards and fireplaces.

CULTURAL EVENTS
The Kastoria Kastoria of Kastoria is characterized by the “Ragoutsaria” on the weekend of 6-8 January, customs that have their roots in the Dionysian celebrations. The events culminate on the third day, the so-called Pateritsa, with the big parade of the masquerades. The “River Party” artistic and musical event on the banks of the Aliakmonas River in Nestorio, organized on the first weekend of August. Also the tsipouro festival in Lithia in December, the bean festival in Lakkoma and the chestnut festival in Kastanofyto.
